Saline Tattoo Removal

FAQ

It is also vitally important that you as a client are made aware of the possible risks and complications of micropigmentation, although it is highly unlikely that this will occur.

Possible risks and complications

haemorrhage or chronic pathological scars

Does saline tattoo removal leave a scar?

The reality is that your tattoo itself, is a scar. With saline tattoo removal, like any form of tattoo removal, some scarring or color variations are likely. It can take up to a full year from the last manipulation for your skin to fully complete healing. The degree of scarring will vary depending on the original tattoo itself, the client’s healing properties, and the aftercare regime followed. Unlike a tattoo, with saline tattoo removal, our goal is to create a scab that will shed with the ink. If you pick at the scab during the healing process, you will almost definitely scar.

Does saline tattoo removal hurt?

We use a topical anesthetic to numb the procedure area.

Are there any tattoos that you can’t or won’t remove?

MelaBeauty doesn't perform Saline Tattoo Removal on scalp tattoos, lip tattoos and permanent eyeliner areas. For these areas, I recommend you see another removal specialist.  This procedure works best on small tattoos. Larger tattoos require multiple appointments over extended periods of time to allow for coagulation and scabbing between sessions.  Laser is a far better option for larger tattoos.

Proper Aftercare

Cocoa Butter

During the course of the micropigmentation treatment, it is crucial to follow instructions of your treatment specialist. Temporary lifestyle changes may be advised, including but not limited to: not letting any moisture near your scalp for the first few days and waiting some time before shaving with a razor. After the pigments have settled, you may choose to resume your regular routine, though some minor additions may be recommended to help ensure the longevity of your SMP.

Many people suggest using cocoa butter. Cocoa butter has many different benefits and can be used for a wide range of reasons. Cocoa butter helps stimulate the healing process and is a gentle, rich moisturiser. Not only will it help moisturize your scalp, cocoa butter will help give your skin a healthier appearance. This is why it is an essential item to have on hand after receiving a medical hairline tattoo. Remember to ask your practitioner if you are unclear as to when you should begin to moisturize after your procedure.

Q: I’ve had permanent makeup somewhere else that I am unhappy with, can you help me?

A: The first thing that you can do is to book a consultation through my website with me. This will give me an opportunity to have a look at your permanent makeup and chat with you about your expectations/outcomes. Please note, I do not offer touch up fees or lesser priced fees for touching up other peoples work. New clients (whether you’ve had work done previously) would always pay full price and in some cases, much more if it is corrective work and will take more time and expertise to cover/fix/reshape your procedure area.
