Longevity & Refills

After your Full Set-Eyelash Extension appointment, you will lose Eyelash Extensions in one of three ways:
1. As natural lashes shed, your Lash Extensions will shed with them. 
2. The bond of the Lash Extensions and adhesive will weaken with dirt, stress and time.
3. Lash Extensions will grow out and will no longer look uniform and will need to be removed and replaced during a "refill" appointment, recommended every 2-3 weeks.
 
Refill appointments can be performed on individuals who have received eyelash extensions in the last 2-4 weeks.  If less than 40% of the lash extensions remain, you will be charged for a full set.

Aftercare

In the first 24 hours after treatment:
Avoid hot water or steam. It can breakdown your lash adhesive.
Avoid wearing eye makeup after your appointment - especially mascara!

Ongoing care tips:
Keep lashes clean and free of debris.
Use clear, oil-free, water-based mascara every couple of days to coat lashes and extend wear. Available for purchase from MelaBeauty.
Avoid oil-based skincare products, cleansers, and makeup removers as they cause the adhesive to breakdown faster.
Avoid oil-based eye makeup. When removing eyeliner, use a cotton swab with oil-free makeup remover.
Do not use mechanical eyelash curlers.
Avoid putting your face directly into the shower water; the water pressure may result in damage to your Lash Extensions.
Sleep on your side or back to avoid pressing your lashes into the pillow.
If this can't be helped, a silk pillow case will help reduce breakage and loss as the smooth surface glides over the lashes instead of causing friction.
Brush out your lashes with a mascara wand at least once a day, especially after getting them wet. Use a twisting/curling motion instead of tugging or pulling.
Keep lashes away from direct heat, such as  blow dryers, BBQs, or when opening the oven, as they can cause your lash extensions to sizzle on the ends!

Lash Fills and Removal
A lash fill should be done every 2-4 weeks depending on which style of lashes you have, the retention your body keeps, and your body's natural lash cycle.
The average person loses about 5 lashes per day naturally during a normal lash cycle, so do not be alarmed as this is normal.
Please come in for removals; do not attempt to remove your lashes at home. It is a quick and painless procedure when done professionally and keeps the integrity of your natural lashes.
