What is a Consultation for Permanent Cosmetics, Scalp/Hairline Pigmentation?
A 30-minute, one-on-one Consultation to meet with the artist and find out more about the procedure(s)/service(s) you're interested in. A free Allergy Test for pigment and numbing cream sensitivity will also be offered during the Consultation appointment.

Why book a Consultation?
This Consultation is *required* for those seeking corrective work from previous Cosmetic Procedures, if you are under the age of 18 (parent or guardian must attend Consultation with you) or for those unsure of what procedure would best suit them. Variables such as client personality, lifestyle, and desired outcome will be evaluated. Realistic expectations of healing and outcome, as well as any fears or concerns wil be discussed.
Aside from health & safety, client satisfaction is the highest priority at MelaBeauty. Together, client and artist will work as a team to achieve the optimum results!

Note: Every permanent cosmetic procedure includes a free consultation, which takes place on the day of the procedure and is included in the cost. Only book a Consultation if you are seeking corrective work, or are unsure about booking a Permanent Cosmetic procedure and want to meet to discuss beforehand. The cost of the Consultation will be deducted from the cost of the chosen procedure so long as the procedure is booked within 60 days of the Consultation appointment.
The non-refundable Consultation fee credit has no cash value, and is non-transferable to other clients, or services beyond the scope of the Consultation appointment. In the event of multiple procedures being booked, the full credit will be applied to the first procedure.
Eyebrows
Nano Brows (Machine Method)
What are Nano Machine Brows?
Nano Machine Brows are the newest eyebrow pigmentation technique, boasting improved pigment retention and tissue health. Tattoo machine techniques are better for skin health than hand tools, as the needles aren't dragged across the skin.
Using a tattoo machine, a single, nano-sized diameter needle is used to deposit pigment under the very top layer of skin, replicating fine hair strokes. Nano Machine Brow hair strokes are very detailed (natural-looking) due to the smaller diameter. Pigment is also deposited into the skin more superficially, resulting in a procedure which is ideal for sensitive skin types, and lasts 6 months - 1 year longer than traditional Microblading.

Microblading (Using Nano Blade)
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a manual eyebrow pigmentation technique in which a hand tool with several tiny, fine-point needles (which make up a small disposable blade) are used to make tiny cuts in the brow skin to deposit pigment. Results mimic natural hair strokes.

MelaBeauty has opted to only perform the Microblading technique using Nano blades, which means less damage to clients' skin, improved colour retention, and healed results lasting 6 month - 1 year longer than Microblading using traditional micro blades. Nano blades make this procedure safe for sensitive skin types.

Ombre/Powder Brows (Microshading)
​Microshading is also referred to as Powder and Ombre brows
Tattoo machine techniques are better for skin health than hand tools, as the needles aren't dragged across the skin.
During a Microshading procedure, pigment is deposited into the brows area using a tattoo machine, leaving a gradient "make-up" effect, instead of individual hair strokes. Depending on the desired result, Powder Brow styles (Instagram brows) are usually dense and bold at the tail of the brows and slowly fade horizontally into a less bold effect towards the bulb of the brow. Ombre Brow styles are similar. however, the lowest part of the brow is boldest and they fade vertically, as they approach the top of the eyebrow.

What is Combination Brow?
Known as the ultimate brow treatment, it is a combination of Microblading and Microshading.
Microblading: A manual eyebrow pigmentation technique in which a hand tool with several tiny, fine-point needles (which make up a small disposable blade) are used to make tiny cuts in the brow skin to deposit pigment. Results mimic natural hair strokes.

Microshading: pigment is deposited into the brows area using a tattoo machine, leaving a gradient "make-up" effect behind the hair strokes for density.
​
Combination Brow is ideal if you currently apply, and want to maintain a makeup effect, but also want to add visible hair strokes.

What are Man Brows?

Microblading is a manual eyebrow pigmentation technique in which a hand tool with several tiny, fine-point needles (which make up a small disposable blade) are used to make tiny cuts in the brow skin to deposit pigment. Results mimic natural hair strokes. Male brows tend to be more full, less groomed, with hair strokes which are less defined. If you are looking for more defined hair strokes, consider Nano Machine Brows.

What is Permanent Eye Liner?
Permanent Eye Liner replaces the need to apply your eye liner makeup every day. Permanent Eye Liner is a pigmentation technique in which pigment is deposited into the top lash line with an *optional* wing or "flick" extending from the outside corner of the eyes. Using a tattoo machine, the liner is implanted beside (not on) your water line and can be as natural or bold as desired. Top Eye Liner & Bottom Lash Enhancement service is also available.

What is Permanent Bottom Lash Enhancement?
Permanent Eye Liner and/or Bottom Liner Lash Enhancement replace the need to apply your eye liner makeup every day. Permanent Bottom Liner Lash Enhancement is a pigmentation technique in which pigment is deposited into the bottom lash line, giving the appearance of a dense lash line. Using a tattoo machine, the liner is implanted beside (not on) your water line, between the first and last natural eye lashes, and can be as natural or bold as desired. ​What are Permanent Freckles?
A tattoo machine is used to place pigment into the skin mimicking natural freckles. Most clients love how cute and youthful a sun-kissed dusting of freckles looks. The procedure covers application of up to 30 freckles. A combination of up to three different pigment colors can be used, depending on skin tone. Results last 1-3 years depending of skin type and sun exposure.

​​​What is Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)?
For men and women alike, SMP is the modern solution to hair loss, chosen by more than half a million people worldwide.

Two techniques may be used to achieve your desired results:

Using a tattoo machine, the appearance of thousands of tiny hairs, cut in a closely shaved style is deposited. The result is a virtually undetectable illusion of a full head of shaven hair.

Using a hand tool or tattoo machine, longer hair strokes can be replicated and blended into longer hair styles.
SMP is applied over multiple treatment sessions, each lasting anywhere from 2 - 3 hours, depending on the extent of hair loss. For optimal healing and results, your sessions will be spread 7-21 days apart. This procedure requires almost zero downtime and most clients return to work the very next day.

A Consultation is required for this type of procedure, as each individual case and price will vary depending on the degree of hair loss. Scalp/Hairline Micropigmentation generally costs CAD $600-$1200 all-inclusive, which includes all required appointments, and aftercare.
